Orlando is the crown jewel of the Sunshine State, a place to soak up the sun and enjoy life. There are endless things to see and do, and plenty of time to relax and get away from it all when you feel like. For a bustling city, it sure comes close to paradise.

After a fantastic time at VMX a couple of months back, Talkatoo is once again embarking to Orlando, this time to present at the 91st Annual Florida Veterinary Medical Association Conference.

This year’s FVMA Conference is taking place from Friday, March 13th, to Saturday, March 14th. With a host of continuing education sessions, including some aimed specifically at veterinary care team members, a day dedicated to wet labs and workshops, and over 50 speakers, this year’s event is sure to fill attendees’ days with knowledge and connection.

There is, of course, also an exhibit hall, showing off the newest developments in veterinary technology. We’ll be showing off Talkatoo at booth #2, visit us to see how it can make you far more productive – and your life a lot easier – just by using something you always have with you: your voice.

With your days full, you might be wondering how to spend your nights. Orlando has a well-deserved reputation for being a theme park mecca, but there’s quite a few interesting things you might miss.

Just down Highway 4 into Celebration, off the side of the road, you may not be surprised to see the iconic representation of a certain cartoon mouse in a way you might not expect. The Mickey Mouse Pylon is a well-known landmark in the planned community, which was intended for workers at the nearby Walt Disney World.

Taking Highway 4 into the city proper, heading east on West Sand Lake Road and turning left onto South Orange Blossom Trail leads you to one of the odder attractions in the city, the Randall Knife Museum. Featuring one of the world’s largest collections of pocket knives, the museum serves as both a historical repository and a tribute to Bo Randall, the legendary knife maker who started a family business that continues to this day. There’s even a six-year waiting list for new customers looking to get their hands on a knife.

If seeing the first knife to go into space isn’t quite your thing, continue driving up to South Orange Blossom Trail and take a right onto Golfview Street, a left onto North Westmoreland Drive, and then another left onto Shady Lane Drive. At the corner of Shady Lane and Clouser Avenue sits the final home of the famed beat poet and author Jack Kerouac, whose loosely autobiographical novel On The Road is one of the most important and beloved American books ever written.

We can’t imagine how Kerouac managed it, because typing is a very unproductive process. Talkatoo, built from the ground up with veterinary professionals in mind, takes all of the time that you would normally spend clacking on a keyboard to write reports and compresses it down to just as long as it takes to say it. You might not write the great American novel, but you will accomplish more every day.

Stay up to date.
