After a wonderful showing at the New York Vet Show in November, we’re bringing Talkatoo to the Golden State for the very first time.
Fetch San Diego takes over the San Diego Convention Center from Thursday, December 12th, to Sunday, December 15th. Promoting evidence-based learning and fun, Fetch San Diego is packed full of continuing education and practical tips from some of the world’s foremost veterinary professionals, including Dr. Dave Nicol and Dr. Mary Gardner.
Of course, no conference would be complete without an exhibition hall featuring the latest and greatest innovations in the veterinary space. We’ll have Talkatoo on display to show how you can reclaim your time while being more productive than ever before.
There is plenty of fun to be had at Fetch San Diego, but what if you wanted to have some fun between sessions, or explore San Diego in the evening?
Southern California has some of the best Mexican and Mexican fusion cuisine, but our first recommendation is authentic in a bit of an unconventional way. Three-and-a-half miles from the Convention Center, on West Washington Street, is the Lucha Libre Taco Shop, serving up tacos, quesadillas, burritos, and other great dishes from south of the border. As the name implies, the shop is a tribute to the world of Lucha libre – Mexican pro wrestling, high-flying and acrobatic – and there’s even a gold “Champion’s Booth” to eat at by reservation only.
Just past West Washington Street on San Diego Avenue, four-and-a-half miles from the Convention Center, is the William B. Kolender Sheriff’s Museum. This museum, dedicated to police history, is home to interactive exhibits, like a reconstituted crime scene to look for clues in. Anyone with even a passing interest in the Old West owes it to themselves to visit and see how law enforcement has advanced through the years and into modern times.
For a different kind of history, not even two blocks up San Diego Avenue is Whaley House, designated as the Travel Channel as “the most haunted home in the United States”. Originally built by Thomas Whaley in 1856, it is one of the city’s most historically significant buildings, having served as a theatre, store, and courthouse. Whether you believe in the paranormal or not, Whaley House is still perhaps the best place to get a sense of what things were like at the tail end of the California Gold Rush.
